For most of us in Bookham, this means bin collections will resume on w/c 20th September at the earliest.
Press release from MVDC:
Tuesday 31 August 2021
Due to the continued national shortage of HGV drivers, and a worsening situation with staff numbers, it will unfortunately not be possible to restart the garden waste collection service in Mole Valley this week and the suspension has been extended until Friday 10 September.
Please do not put your garden waste bin out or report your bin as missed. Your garden waste subscription account will be credited to compensate for the missed collection, but please do renew it as normal to ensure there is no break in service.
For every collection that is cancelled £2.23 will be credited to your account for every bin you have. The credits will be applied to your account at the time of your next renewal, reducing the amount you will need to pay next time. If you decide not to renew your garden waste service, then a refund can be issued at this time.
We apologise for the continued inconvenience this issue is causing and thank you for your patience and support as we continue to work on solutions for this situation. You can find out more about the driver shortage here.
You can take your garden waste to a Community Recycling Centre for free. Details about the centres are on the Surrey County Council website. You might also want to think about composting your garden waste at home. There is lots of information and advice about this on the Surrey Environment Partnership website.
If you are self-isolating with symptoms of coronavirus, please read our guide on how to deal with your waste.
Please note, collections for dry mixed recycling and food waste continued as normal over the bank holiday (Monday 30 August) and so please put these bins out ready for collection on your usual day this week.
